Indian rupee settled higher against the greenback on Wednesday. Rupee was higher by 0.02 paise or 0.04% against US Dollar to 49.14.

The Sensex added 84.87 points or 0.48% at 17,707.32 with 22 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty climbed by 33 points or 0.62% at 5,368.15 with 35 components registering rise.

In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.09% to 78.47 (08:14 ET).

Euro - USD was trading at 1.32 up 0.16% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 76.93 up 0.22% (08:18 ET).
